Netbook Review: An Honest HP Mini 110 Review

Considering that I am a frequent flyer, I am writing this HP Mini 110 review for people like me that need a mini computer that they can easily take on the road. I have used my HP Mini for about 3 months, which is long enough to provide some feedback on it's many useful features. Hopefully, if you are shopping for a netbook, this information will prove useful.

This "mighty mite" has technical specifications equal to the top netbooks in its class. It features a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor N270, 1 GB of RAM, 160 GB of hard drive space, a 10.1 inch screen, and comes complete with Windows XP home edition. These specs provide enough firepower for the needs of just about any business traveller.

This HP Mini 110 review would not be complete without discussing how easily you'll be able to go Online. Internet connectivity is now a critical need for business people, students, and other people on the go. The unit comes complete with WiFi connection so connecting to the wireless Web is a breeze, regardless of your location.

This little gem is head and shoulders above other netbooks because of how easily you are able to sync with your main computer. Because of Syncables software, this no longer is a hassle. Just go ahead and connect your 110-1037NR and in the blink of an eye it will sync files, photos, and videos. The unit can even run in the background on it's own, so users don't have to do a thing. This feature is ideal for individuals who are technically challenged and don't want to mess with technology. This is one mini computer that is both good looking and easy to use.

Actually, I have just scratched the surface regarding the features of this HP Mini netbook computer. It boasts a screen that is antiglare and quite wide.

For years I have had to struggle seeing a glossy screen in bright daylight,so the antiglare feature will probably save my eyesight! This awesome little screen is much easier on your eyes. It is also a money saver and won't detract from your computing. Remarkably enough, the 110-1037nr also has an almost full sized keyboard. Typing is almost as easy as my desktop at home!

By now it is obvious that this HP Mini 110 review is positive. It is yet another reason why HP has become a trusted name. It is also VERY competitively priced, which will help elevate HP's status in the netbook market. This cute little unit is also very attractive! It can fulfill your computing needs whether you are at home or on the go.

Netbook Review: The HP Mini Netbook

Unlike laptops (that comes with a variety of specs), most netbooks have very similar specifications. For that reason, many netbook models have resorted to adding a wide variety of features to remain competitive. High-end netbooks such as the Asus 1005HA and the Toshiba Mini have gone to great lengths to stand from the crowd by providing users with an array of very impressive features (such as an astounding battery life, good design, etc).

The HP Mini netbook is one of the netbook models that have managed to remain competitive in the netbook market. Like most netbooks, it comes with an Intel Atom N270 processor, a 160GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM. After reviewing this model, I would say that the design and the keyboard of this netbook would have to be its biggest selling factor. Many other top-selling netbook models in the market have 6-10 hours of battery life. The HP Mini on the other hand has a modest 3.5 hours of battery life. We really hope that HP catches up soon with the rest of the crowd in this aspect.

Then again, this is a HP machine, so you can be assured of getting a durable and reliable computing platform. They keyboard of the HP Mini is also easily one of the best in the market for a netbook. Due to the size of netbook, their keyboards usually take a little time to get used to. Thanks to a great design, typing on the HP Mini keyboard feels really comfortable and felt close to typing on a full sized keyboard. My favorite design is the all-black model. There is a suave feel to it and I think it looks much better than many other black netbooks in the market. Thankfully, the HP Mini is also modestly price. Currently, it sells for around $329 per unit.

Price: When the Toshiba Mini netbook was released, it was a little more expensive that most netbooks in the market. With the netbook market getting increasingly competitive, Toshiba has since lowered its price. The Toshiba Mini and HP mini now have almost identical prices of around $329 each, which is a good bargain for netbooks of this stature (and great news for us budget conscious consumers). Winner: Draw

Battery Life: Both these netbooks are powered by a 6-cell battery but you will be surprise to discover the battery lifespan differences in these two models. The battery on the HP mini can last about 5-6 hours on a single charge while the Toshiba netbook's battery can last up to 9 hours without the need for a recharge. Winner: Toshiba Mini.

Specs: In this category, both models have almost identical specs, namely 1GB of RAM a 160GB hard drive, 802.11b/g wi-fi connectivity and an array of similar specs. The Toshiba Mini tops the specs of the HP mini in a just a few aspects. For instance, the Toshiba netbook has a slightly more powerful Intel Atom N280 (1.66Ghz) processor. Winner: Toshiba Mini

Keyboard:This is another close call. They keyboard on the HP netbook is well known to be the most comfortable to type on. The Toshiba Mini's keyboard is also pretty well designed. It fells good to type on, but not as good as the HP model. There is something bout the curved keys on the HP keyboard that gives it a slight edge. Winner: HP Mini

Design:This is quite a subjective category as it is largely a matter of taste. The HP mini has a glossy external surface with some subtle circular patters. The Toshiba netbook on the other hand has a matte surface. The Toshiba model is more distinctive when compared to other notebooks but the HP model is quite stylish in its own right. So which one is more stylish? You be the judge. Winner: Draw

Features:The Toshiba netbook has slightly more features than the HP mini. For instance the Toshiba model has the capability to charge devices when it is standby mode or off. It is also a much more environmentally friendly netbook, where it is RoHS compliant, EPEAT Gold and Energy Star 5.0 compliant. Winner: Toshiba Mini

Overall: All in all, the Toshiba Mini is a much better netbook in many aspects. The HP Mini is also a formidable competitor in its own right where it will win over lots of fans with its wonderful keyboard and edgy design. The Toshiba model on the other will win over the hearts of those who are looking for a powerful, reliable and professional feature-filled netbook model.
